PART III - COMMENTS

 ---------------------

Carmencita Quesada Fulgado - I am amazed at the dates, number of people, specifity in events. The introductory chapter gave the excellent academic background, parental lineage, historical affinity of members as you entered plebehood.

---------------------

Aris delos Reyes - My sister residing in Ohio in a prolonged telephone conversation informed that she likes the book. She has not finished reading it yet but in lieu of the Bible she read it during the Holy Week instead. The way it was written made her get acquainted easily with PMA cadet life. It [the book] was well-written and it is not boring. She asked me more questions not only about me but other mistahs and cadet activities like the Ring Hop. Specifically, upon further clarification by my brother, she now knows that Oca Martinez was the class topnotcher and Greg Honasan the Baron .

---------------------

Romy Dominguez - A great remark from a great man who pretends to be a common person just like us. You said.. "Now, you're ready to die." Maybe; but not yet.  You have to make a sequel- or simply, another book. It may take awhile, geniuses have to rest, too. And, this time upon seeing in your face the joy of accomplishing a dream-- ever-supportive Cora will not fret, I am sure. It made your "initial" book-writing experience sweeter after all. My salute!

---------------------

Ping Lacson - Triumph without struggle may not be a story worth sharing with others. If only for the struggles and challenges that Rolly went through in writing the story of our class, he deserves the snappiest salute that we can ever render to anyone.

---------------------

Cicero L Castellano - The book is really beautiful. One can make series of movies out of it. I can only imagine the trouble you went through because this is not fiction.

---------------------

Danilo B Francia - Need we say more, again what a great accomplishment!

---------------------

Renato Paredes - Mabuhay ka Mistah [classmate] Rolly M!!! I m so proud I am your Mistah!

---------------------

Connie Evangelista Elona Congratulations Rolly for a job well done.

---------------------

Sunny Graham - Congratulations my dear friend! As another Asian writer by the name of Anais Nin said..."And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." You have indeed blossomed! Who would have thought that Lando, Rolly or Coronel Malinis would one day create an epiphany so that the rest of us who grew up in the same generation could soar along with you and the Matatag brothers! After all as another author said..."the universe is made of stories, not of atoms." Again, congratulations!

---------------------

Lilian Daluz Ortega - Congratulations!!

---------------------

Eduardo Arroyo  Waiting for book 2.

---------------------

Ronnie Dulay  Beautiful! Beautiful!

---------------------

Ricardo de Leon, President Philippine Safety College. Congratulations Mistah Rolly for your 17 years of painstaking work. A significant 44 years since our graduation in PMA in 1971, this book, Brothers is a compassioned peek in recalling on how our PMA class Matatag 71 were defined and built through the hallowed grounds. After 44 years, the authentic exchanges of experiences that fostered friendship and deepened fellowship are revealed. 44 years that encouraged a truthful dialog about things that really mattered in our lives in the Philippine Military Academy and our places thereafter. 44 historic years, and this book is timely and in the position to transmit as a heritage to future generations a country, a people; compact and united in the bonds of a common affection. What an uncanny coincidence to the much talked SAF44..

Winston Arpon - This book you can be proud of.

Now, in case you haven't done so, you should take steps to have a copy of this book in as many places as possible, at minimum, the Library of Congress US; the National Library; the AFP Museum; the PMA Library; the PMA Alumni Center.

Wishful thinking: maybe your class can initiate a special corner in the PMA Library as repository of publications authored by former PMA cadets, graduates and non-graduates. Someone like Dan Francia can take the lead on this. I volunteer to be part of the effort.

---------------------

Greg Mendoza - Congrats to this achievement....Rolly.....

Jesus B. Duller - I did not only enjoy reading "Brothers".  I felt so proud and inspired to be a PMA graduate.

---------------------

Tita Lee Quesada- About the author, I know Rolly Malinis with fond familiarity. He is "Lando" to us. He and his wife, Cora, are our virtual "family" in the close-knit group of the Paetenians on the Internet (www.paete.org). Lando's wife Cora and I came from Paete, Laguna. We work and share eventful moments in the Paetenians International (PI) community since the 1990s. A significant project was the computerization (wireless) of the Paete Elementary Schools in the early 2000 (www.alaycomputer.paete.org - the website created by Lando). We, at PIusa and PIcanada are very joyful and proud of this accomplishment. Lando is always a quiet, unassuming brother of many hidden skills. And our fond salute goes to his wife Cora (Cagandahan) too! Keep the lights burning, you two. Every dream never dies.
